HOPEGUARD

HOPEGUARD is a thermal blanket – a HOPE family product – dedicated to protect against weather conditions. The product has been developed to meet the needs of rescue services.

HOPEGUARD performs well in difficult conditions and protects casualties from wind, rain, snow or frost. The product also acts as a thermal blanket to maintain the body temperature of the casualty during initial rescue operations. Thus, it reduces the risk of hypothermia. This is evidenced by the tests carried out, where HOPE Guard’s thermal resistance was measured and scored up to: R_ct = 0.187 [(m ^ 2 ∙ K) / W

The result obtained is very satisfactory as, for comparison, the thermal resistance of the NRC foil is only R_ct = 0.092 [(m ^ 2 ∙ K) / W].

HOPEGUARD’s strengths are its high thermal resistance supported by research and its practical solutions supported by reviews and suggestions from medical and rescue services.

The product is distinguished by a special thick layer that insulates the injured person from the cold ground. This layer has been designed to minimise human contact with the ground. The blanket is designed in the shape of a sleeping bag with an accordion on the sides, which enables the blanket to be carried and unfolded very easily at the accident site. The product is equipped with a special moisture-resistant double-sided tape, which is used to secure the patient within the blanket. The tape contains large pieces of double-sided tape to be easily and conveniently peeled off with gloves or medical service gloves.
HOPE Guard can be used in two ways:
  • Protective sleeping bag (the casualty lies inside)
  • Protective cover (blanket placed over the casualty, no insulation from the ground)

The dimensions of the HOPEGUARD are 2.5m x 2m, allowing the product to fit any casualty. The product is vacuum packed, the dimensions of the final blanket packaging are: 30 x 25 x 10 [cm]
